Empowering Farmers through Collective Action: Swarnrekha Krishak Producer Company

To improve the standard of living for small and marginal farmers, AGRAGATI has supportive five Farmer Producer Origanizations (FPOs) with funding and technical assistance from NABARD. Among these, Saraghih-based Swarnrekha Krishak Producer Company Limited has become a shining example of group development. The government's procurement program recognized the FPO as a Paddy Procurement Centre in FY 2023-2024. It purchase paddy from about 270 farmers as a result of this program, bringing in Rs20 lakh in revenue. Fair pricing and prompt payments were guaranteed, resolving two major issues that farmers in conventional marketplaces faced.
The FPO helped members by facilitating the supply of inputs in additional to procurement. it made it possible to sell seeds for Rs. 2.7 lakh, guaraneeing prompt access to high-quality inputs, and fertilizer trades for Rs. 1.2 lakh, which benefited 170 small and marginal farmers. Farm incomes rose as a direct result of thses initiatives, which also improved input access and decreased production costs.
