Promoting Financial Inclusion and Empowerment through CFL

Wof ith funding from NABARD, SBI, and BOI, AGRAGARTI is carrying out the Centre for FINANCIAL lITERACY (CFL) program under the direction of the RBI. Formal banking benefits, account operations, ATM usage, account opening procedures (including Jan Dhan), mobile number registration, nomonation, KCC loans, digital banking, social security schemes (like Atal Pension Yojana), and cybercrime prevention are all topics covered in the frequent vilage-level awareness sessions that CFL teams conduct as part this initiative. One noteworthy impact story came from Shikarpur village, where the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Joyti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) helped Chinta Devi, the late Nageshwar Prasad's widow. She learend about the insurance plan via CFL and SHG teams following her husband's unintentional death at a train station. They helped her submit a claim through SBI, where premiums has been paid on a regular basis, and verify records. Chinta Devi received Rs. 2,00,000 in less than a month. She opened a savings account in her daughter's name, paid off her obligations, and safeguarded her future. This story demonstrates the life-changing effect of timely advice and finanial literacy in enabling rural households to regain their rights and start over.
